ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION FOR CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION

- Implement, coordinate and monitor two such teaching models, one in Nicosia hosting students from Belfast and one in Belfast hosting students from Cyprus. The educational, blended learning framework which will be developed will be implemented in the format of an architectural studio unit to encourage interaction between adversarial groups (both through physical and virtual presence) in order to instigate conflict transformation as well as to examine grassroot ways to deal with urban elements inherent to divided cities. The successful completion of this objective will be assessed through effective monitoring and measuring of well-known social psychological measures of the quality of intergroup relations (prejudice, negative stereotypes, trust, perspective taking, realistic and symbolic threat, forgiveness, intergroup contact)
